About Us & Certifications

Who we are

Conceived as a next generation environmental waste management company, "Recycling What Matters" by husband and wife team, Ari and Jessica Kesler, and throughout the years has established accountability and value for its users. We're dedicated to the proper reuse and recycling of all battery types & electronic waste collected through sustainable collection methods used by consumers, businesses, municipalities, and government achieving compliance. We offer responsible closed loop products and services to efficiently manage all battery types and e-waste that should never reach landfills or waterways for many obvious benefits. One of our core values is to use an incentive based model when possible, rewarding recycling participants with payouts for valued material and offering the lowest cost option for properly recycling non-valued material. All of our US based downstream recyclers and refineries are certified Industry leaders never shipping overseas as part of our zero landfill policy. Downstream process and Insurance documentation are available upon request. References available that will relay the professional integrity we strive for.

We operate fully insured and environmentally certified facilities located in Brooklyn, New York that are registered with the New York State DEC (Department of Environment Conservation) Facility (#01002).  We have in place strict Environmental Health & Safety Management Systems that are audited for best practices.  MYBRS welcomes scheduled drop offs 5 days a week, offers battery and electronic waste collection containers as part of our national mail back program, as well as our signature on-site green glove service. The added value we offer our clients goes beyond the "need it now" compliance factor; our transparency and knowledge enables us to provide cost saving recycling programs while reducing your environmental footprint!

Environmental Certifications

ISO 9001 is an internationally recognized Quality Management System standard published by ISO (International Organization for Standardization). A Quality Management System, as described in the current ISO 9001 Standard, enables companies to understand our organization implements streamlined processes and operational efficiency.

ISO 14001 (International Organization for Standardization) is the world’s most recognized framework for environmental management systems (EMS) and the largest developer of voluntary International Standards. ISO has developed standards that help organizations to take a proactive approach to managing environmental issues. It specifies requirements for establishing an environmental policy, determining environmental aspects and impacts of products/activities/services, planning environmental objectives and measurable targets, implementation and operation of programs to meet objectives and targets, checking and corrective action and management review.

ISO 45001 is an internationally-applied British Standard for occupational health and safety management systems. It exists to allow companies to know our organization has put in place demonstrably sound occupational health and safety performance.

R2v3 certification, or Responsible Recycling Version 3, is the latest iteration of the R2 standard. Established by SERI (Sustainable Electronics Recycling International), it sets forth guidelines for the safe and sustainable recycling of electronic waste.

  • Environmental Impact: With millions of tons of e-waste generated annually, there’s a pressing need for responsible disposal. R2v3 ensures that recyclers adhere to best practices, minimizing environmental harm.

  • Data Security: The certification mandates strict data destruction protocols, ensuring that sensitive information doesn’t fall into the wrong hands.

  • Health & Safety: R2v3 places a significant emphasis on worker safety, ensuring that recycling processes don’t jeopardize human health.

Contracting with an electronics recycler that is R2V3 Certified means peace of mind in knowing that your company’s IT assets, batteries, bulbs and ballasts are being managed by a recycler that has demonstrated they have a system in place to properly handle materials according to the R2V3 Standard.
